Autumn

Hi everybody, hope you had a delightful Friday!

We awoke to a full on foggy morning, signifying that Autumn was well and truly here, but as you will see from the photo below it turned into a beautiful sunny autumn day making one feel happy and glad to be outside.  Spring and Autumn are my favourite months.

Well today has been busy, my husband and I decided to bite the bullet and crop our silver birch tree, some bits had gone rotten and it was looking a little battered.  Below is the final result – we had five bags of leaves and branches which we have just taken to the local tip.  (It will grow new leaves – trust me).

The Pyracantha hedge is heavily berried, birds must be saving them for the hard winter ahead.

Satisfied and tired, bye for now.

Birdy Bytes

Hi everybody, Hetty here!

Today has been glorious, mummy went out for a little stroll in the autumn sunshine but when she came back we had our Sunday Fun day play time – took loads of photos of me – must love me lots.  Here is my good self – and I have been very good …….

I do like my portrait. (Vanity again !!!)

Mummy also made me some new toys to play with – well actually I shred them and mummy rebuilds them.  Look at all the lovely colours!

Toy parts are from Northern Parrots, England.

Bye for now.

Sewing on Sunday

Hi everyone, just a quick post – I’ve not finished anything yet but we are making considerable progress with Lady Greensleeves, see below:-

Hetty’s Birdy Bytes and Sewing Thoughts

Hetty 30th sept

Hi everybody – hope you are having a lovely Sunday.  Bit gloomy today and getting autumnal – so having  a nice snuggly day with my mummy.  Back in her good books- by the way.

Getting quite good at the posing lark (vanity again).

Hetty snuggles

Mummy says that I smell good.  stop it!

Not much to report on the sewing front, slowly but surely making progress with Lady Greensleeves , have nearly completed the Arabian Horse.

The sky is now completed and the sand dunes, have added the jewelled head piece down his face and most of the mane is completed.

I am toying with the idea of making some bohemian type placemats by using one of my frames as a loom.  Just an idea floating around my busy brain at the moment – I will keep you posted.

Bye for now.

Hetty’s bytes

Hi everyone, Hetty here,

I am in mummy’s bad books, I bit here hard, didn’t let go.  Tears and blood.  Bad Birdy!!!

Just woke up in a bad mood.  I am eating humble pie.

However, mummy has forgiven me and we had our normal Sunday Funday.

Many cuddles and snuggles and posing for pictures.

What more can a bird do!

Peck Peck!!!!!

Sunday with Hetty

Hi it’s Hetty,  hope everybody is okay.  It’s been very warm in this part of Britain and my human mummy has been busy with domestic things – I think she posted something earlier.  Any way I have been quietly amusing myself and the week she had taken off work has enabled me to be out of the cage more.  Also I have a new present – see below – it is the fluffy one.

new present

as it was her birthday and she didn’t want me to feel left out.  I have such a caring thoughtful mummy.

Also posed for some photos – such fun we have!

Well that’s all folks

Peck!  Peck!

Walking …….

Walking is something I have always loved and more recently I have started writing up my journals of various holidays that I have taken – both as a single person and as a married couple.

These were my new walking boots that my husband bought me on my 50th Birthday.  We were on holiday in Kent – they are Karrimor – and so comfortable.  I think they  are a 3-season boot.  Already clocked up approx. 35 miles in them.

Sorry about quality of photo.

Whilst I have been on my staycation I have organised the walking cards from Country Walking magazine between 2 folders – one for the southern areas of Great Britain and one for the northern areas.  Organised or what!  In the past I have scaled Kinder Scout and walked to Wast Water from Eskdale and over Irton Fell in one day.  In the future I hope to be able to walk the Pembrokeshire Coast Path or some other long distance path.

As you can see there is a Progress Tracker and whilst I will not be attempting long distance at the moment every little step will count.

Bye for now
