I had things all planned out, arranged around visits to mum’s (who is doing fine, xray showed no chest infection so good news on that front and no news from Lymph Node Tests after her Cancer surgery) so she has mended fairly well. I have managed a little on the sewing front before being struck by another Migraine attack. So here is my progress after only a few days sewing.

Well lets get to it, I have managed to do some sewing on the July Basket of my Red work Quilt.
Here is where I was last time …
Here is my progress
And apart from the stitchery side, I have also sewn together the second row and three quarters of the top row. Not sure why I sewed them in that order, just happened.
That’s all, take care

I have been beavering away at my sewing, trying to fit it whenever possible, as well as helping my mum with her sewing. By the way she is dong ever so well and has stayed positive. Recently had her follow up after surgery and it appears the surgeon has removed the cancerous cells completely and results have shown that the cancer hadn’t spread. No Chemotherapy or Radiation Therapy required. A huge relief!! They have taken more blood tests to check the Lymph Nodes but not heard anything back from those, so no news is good news.
Anyhow onto the sewing – I have made loads of Piano Key Blocks that make up the border on the Red Work Basket Quilt by Mandy Shaw of Dandelion Designs. I have also made the border for each block in the Calico material, and sewn some blocks together. Here are some photos …

It’s starting to look good. I’ve ironed the calico redwork via a tea towel dampened, but the hoop marks are quite stubborn. Anyone have an idea to help press them out?
Here is my progress on the July Basket.
Isn’t the Strawberry delicious!
That is all for now

I have been working rather slowly on the Bothy Thread Seasonal Panel – Spring. It is interesting to stitch and the colours are beautiful, although I am not sure all the colours will show up on photos as they are in reality.

I have managed quite a bit of sewing on the actual red work section of this quilt. I have finished the June block and have just started the July block. However, I have also finished sewing together the pieced blocks for this quilt.
Here is a photo of the finished blocks – Oct and Nov (with the poppy)

I have struggled these past three weeks to get some sewing done on my chosen project. My sewing time has been taken up visiting my mum in hospital as she has recently been diagnosed with Bowel Cancer and has been rushed in urgently to have the tumour removed. The doctor is optimistic in the fact of removing everything but I’m sure they might need to do another scan to check. So at present no chemo or radiotherapy. Back home now and visiting her there. My two brothers live at home so that takes some of the stress away- they can cook and clean ( mum made sure we could all look after ourselves from an early age), and I provide the emotional support and a woman’s touch. Lots of cuddles and tears needed in the beginning but she is fighting head-on. Feeling a little stretched at the moment, as my husband who is older than me also needs my help in doing things around the garden, which due to the start of nicer weather has sprung into life. What a curveball !!
Sorry – onto sewing subject, here is where I was last time ….
Here is my small progress …
Please take a peek at the other members have achieved on their individual projects.
Life has thrown me a curve ball and my mojo for sewing was totally off kilter. I have, however, managed to get some stitches into the June Red work block these past three weeks and it now looks like this.

after 3 weeks
Hopefully I will be able to get a lot more sewing done this week as I have some time off from the paid job and then it is Easter so a long holiday.
Well that is all for me this time, please take a look at the other members projects as listed below.

I have slowed on the stitching front a little but knowing I needed to show something over the past three weeks ahs spurred me on. I have started the Bothy threads Seasons Panel – Spring. It is pastel colours and looks very pretty, so far I am using one thread on 14 count Zweigart Aida and the threads provided
Here is my start
Well that is me short and sweet this week.
