Secret Santa

This was my Secret Santa present, I was so pleased.  I have added it to my pile of things to stitch.

Also I do not think that I will be able to finish The Christmas Dachshund before the 25th, but will definitely have it on display next year.  Here is my progress so far.

Sunday special

Hi everyone Hetty  here!

Well I have been quiet lately on the blog front – mainly because I have been curious as to what my human mummy has been up to.  Bright coloured paper which she wraps around boxes etc.  Then playing songs about Christmas ……. aaahaaa – that is what it is.  I wonder which one or two or three are mine.

This stocking filled with goodies is mine – yes!

And mummy put up this tree with my “bauble” on it.

I’m scared of the tree and what’s with all the penguins in funny hats?

I’m still favourite – head scratching from mummy are best.

Merry Christmas to you all

Christmas time/Stitching time

Well it that time of year again, a mad frenzy to buy gifts and send out warm messages to everyone near and far.  For a while everywhere looks pretty, glistening with tinsel and some areas even get snow on Christmas Day which adds to the magical feel for the youngsters in your lives.  For some it is an extremely religious day, others not so – and some even hate Christmas and all its propaganda, some are given the best meal they have had all year given their circumstance of becoming homeless.  Whatever our reasons for this season – spreading a little kindness is the best feeling ever!  And maybe we should practice it all year long!  Amen – sermon over.

Back to sewing, I have completed one Christmas Card which is for my husband.  It was a free gift from a Cross stitch magazine.

It’s cute isn’t it!

I have also progressed with my Christmas Dachshund, see below:

And a little more on my Lady Greensleeves,

Not much stitching ……but

Hi everybody,

As my post suggests not much stitching has been achieved this last week but plenty of Christmas Shopping has been successfully done and basically ….. it’s a wrap

I know it is early, but I have been super organised and now that is done I can go back to stitching.   Christmas cards are written and I have just written my best friend a long letter – so feeling good.  It gave my shoulder a little rest so a good thing.

Sunday starters

Hi

Hope everyone is having a nice Sunday, after a little bit of deliberation I have started on a Christmas project.  Mainly because I would like a Dachshund for real but the following will have to do until I retire.  The other option is prepped ready to start sewing so it was a close call, but his eyes just drew me to him.

Christmas Dachshund 1The other option was an image of Audrey Hepburn, can’t wait to start it.  Knowing me, I probably will have all 3 projects (ongoing WIP Lady Greensleeves) on the go at once.

Well not much else has happened so tatty bye!001

Saturday Surprise!

Hi everybody,

Look what  I found at the bottom of my old sewing trunk.  What would we have done without out Ladybird Books?  This book is 46 years old!!!

Also

early sewing tablecloth

I would probably have started this tablecloth when I was 11 – 13 years old.  Perhaps I make an effort to finish it.

Wednesday Whoo Hoo !

Today I have completed 30 years’ service at the company I work for, and I have to say, that I have been very fortunate to move around this company and hold a variety of positions managerial/non-managerial.  I have, in total, been very happy in my work.  I was also fortunate to meet and fall in love with the most wonderful husband  (okay getting slushy now).

This is the bouquet of flowers from the Directors, which I have arranged in a vase

That’s all for now!

Friday finish.

Hello everybody,

Hope you are having a pleasant Friday.  Unbelievable blue sunny sky today after a very wet Thursday.  How bizarre can our weather be!

However, I have a finish – yay!!!  And what a magnificent horse he is.  I have named him Mystery.

Below are the images of the Arabian Horse, before and after images of outlining.

Well that’s all my stitching news.  It leaves me with the choice of starting another project – such a hard decision.

Bye for now.
