Birdy Bytes – Fun in the Sun

A sunny bank holiday – hooray – Hetty here and I’m taken outside in my cage as I am fully flighted you see – and if I fly too high I would be disorientated and lose sight of my fabulous human, for whom I have much love.  As you can see I was doing acrobatics and everything.  I know in the 1st image it looks like I have grown a bunch of feathers on my head, but I can assure you it is a shrub in the background.

NEW CROSS-STITCH PICTURES

PEACOCK HEAD DETAILPROUD PEACOCKEGYPTIAN PRINCESS

Hi, just completed the Proud Peacock – such stunning colours.  It is on even-weave fabric not aida.  Took quite a while to do, but really proud of it.

The Egyptian Princess is half cross stitch on pre-printed fabric.  Rather like colour by numbers when painting.  Slightly easier to do than counting crosses all the time.

Hope you like

Birdy Bytes from Hetty

Hi, Hetty here – I’ve posed for some new pictures.  I think this one on the left shows my features the best.  I am a Meyer’s parrot and my ancestors are  from the African continent (I am British born).  I am smaller than the African Grey but my bite is just as good, though I do not impose such an act unless provoked or hormonal (it’s my age – I am a grouchy teenager after all).  I love sitting on my human’s shoulder and stealing kisses.

Well that’s my little Birdy Byte for today, don’t fly away I will be back soon.

Time for snuggles!  Peck Peck

Stitchwork

Hi, I’ve just picked up stitchwork from the Picture Framers and I’m so pleased.  Here are two very different types of stitches.  The elephant (not my design – by the way – I just worked the stitches) is in blackwork and is in fact loads of octagons with cross stitches for effect.  The other uses cross stitches and straight stitches ( again not my design ).
