Hi Everyone
I have been working on two projects this month,
Firstly, I am still putting some time in on the sewing machine cover (February chosen project). I have now got some H640 Stabilizer (I think people use this in bag construction) to strengthen the front back and top of the design. I have made one side, 2nd photo, and I thought that maybe it didn’t need any stabilizer but not sure. Anyhow just going to basic quilt sandwich via straight lines and then decide on side panels.
Here is the design so far ….

The second project was one of the stitchery panel which I have been hand quilting in straight lines following the design. You can see the stitching lines better from the back. (This was one of the nominated projects for March, so haven’t fallen off the wagon yet)

.I have also been trying to learn crochet. I think I have the technique and concept alright but it is my tension and holding the wool correct in the left hand that I am struggling with. Any tips? Or is it a case of practice makes perfect.
This is my second attempt (the first attempt is really too shameful !!). It is sort of square

The design was on You tube by Emma C makes. It’s called the Sunshine Granny Square.
Well that;s all for now

This Hand Quilt Along is an opportunity for hand quilters and piecers to share and motivate one another. We post every three weeks, to show our progress and encourage one another. If you have a hand quilting project and would like to join our group contact Kathy at the link below.
love the bright colours of the “sewing” fabric. And re crochet . . . looks good for an early attempt. And yes, with practice, you’ll find a more comfortable way to hold yarn, work and hook which will resolve any tension issues.
