Hello Everyone
At the moment it is not the weather for quilting in the UK, we are having an early heatwave, and on the subject of weather I have finished the quilt top that is my 2025 Temperature Quilt. Fashionably late of course. I have pieced the backing with the remaining large pieces of scrap fabric. I used scraps for all this quilt and had to make some substitutes as I ran out of certain fabrics. Nonetheless it has made a dent in my scrap pile. Each row is as follows – top colour is the high and bottom one low temperature. I chose to make it ten blocks across so three row per month roughly (read from left to right for each row. It has made the quilt long and narrow but it can be laid on the bed over the feet. I intend to hand quilt this on the diagonal one way only but first I neew to remove all the papers. Oh my!!
Here are some photos:

I quite enjoyed sewing the quilt so I have made a late decision to make another one and my idea was to make a Sewing or Cotton Reel Temperature Quilt – where the cotton would be is the high or low temperature with brown or beige as the reel. and to use up scraps with a low volume effect as the infills to make a square block. The months will go across the quilt and it will turn out about 84″ x 108″. Am I making sense – here is an image dark brown high temperature block and light brown low temperature block sewn together to make one day’s record ie high 5 low 1. It looks like an interesting year temperature wise in the UK. Have you every made a temperature quilt? Isn;t that doggy sweet? This is not all scraps as I had to purchase some green fabric and the brown fabrics. I am hoping it turns out quite different to the other temperature quilt.

I have also sewn the binding on the Cheater print Mini Hexagons from Laundry Basket Quilts English Garden design. This was fun to make and I chose to hand quilt with three different colours, You can see it better on the back of the quilt. It is a lap quilt size and feels so squishy. One off my long list.

And now for the new start, another easy type quilting project. A Winnie The Pooh Panel which I have started to mark with a Frixion Pen on the diagonal using a template ruler free with Todays Quilter magazine. I am going to do yellow and blue stitches on alternate rows.

Well that’s me for now, cold drink required
