Ooops!!!! Apologies to everyone – I didn’t think we would blog on Boxing Day and I also haven’t touched the Pirate Quilt at all. So next year I will continue with it and hopefully finish before Easter. That’s my challenge for this quilt.
Well I know that I have mentioned a few times that a secret Christmas Present was being sewn and now I can reveal that present (the recipient I am glad to say was very happy with his present).
Here are some photos …..
Not quite sure what happened to this image but the original picture shows the true colour best. The design just has a black fleece inner and backing. I want him to use it not just for show and hopefully he can wrap it around himself and keep warm when required.
I have cooked, served and eaten the Christmas Meal and now my hubby is having a snooze in the chair after listening to the Queen’s Speech. So I have stole myself off to type this short message, include some photos and most of all to Hope and Wish you are all having a wonderful Christmas Day with lots of happy memories and present fun time which will become the memories of the future.
We had a Christmas Secret Santa at work and this is the present that I received:
Also, our I.T. company who look after our computers sent a wonderful hamper of goodies and I chose to have this Gingerbread Cup. It is so lovely to hold in your cupped hands.
So with this happy smiley face I bid you farewell for now!
Hope you are all safe and well. It’s the last SAL before Christmas so let’s get to it. I have managed a few stitches on Lady Greensleeves. It seems an age since I picked her up.
Here is where I was last time ….
Here is where I am now …….
A little bit on the right hand side of the horse and some round the bridle.
Hopefully when Christmas is over and I have all of the holidays off work this year I can complete this beautiful piece. Fingers crossed!
Hope you all have a lovely Christmas and a Happy New Year, and that just leaves me to thank all of you for your support and encouragement.
Well who’d of thought we would be facing another lockdown whilst the bugs rage around us. I hope everybody is safe and well.
I have been sewing diligently on a Christmas Quilt idea (not for this year) and have made some good progress. The design is loosely based on a copy of Joyeux Noel in Todays Quilter Issue 68 by Amanda Little of Little Quilt House.
Hopefully my centre star looks similar.
Centre Star Design in progress1 of 8 Side designs
The centre star is going to have a border and the surrounding designs will be sashed. That is the plan at the moment.
If I do not type again before Christmas – I wish you all a Merry Christmas and a Happy , Healthy New Year!
Although my efforts of late have been occupied with sewing a secret Christmas Present I have made a little progress on the Pirate Quilt. As you will see in the photo below I have sewn 3/4 of a hoop full of rope design in the sand. It’s not a lot but slowly the whole quilt is coming together.
Well that is me on this occasion so why not grab a cuppa and peruse the other members projects in the links below.
I apologise, but I do not have anything to show about Lady Greensleeves – I just haven’t pick her up to do one stitch. I have concentrated on my Christmas Present to someone, who for obvious reasons, cannot be named. I actually finished it this morning. I have also been stitching Sophia Loren so I am posting some photos of her instead.
Well that is me, why not pop along and view what our other members of this delightful SAL group have been sewing/crafting.
I have been busy sewing a Christmas Present which is now at “sewing on the binding stage” – so a near finish. I’m itching to show you but the recipient of this present sometimes has a peek at my blog, therefore, I will show you the photos in the New Year.
I have also been using up some half square triangle scraps and this is the project so far ………
Sorry about fuzzy photo. The idea being love hearts in a square dance, the brown and beige squares are the flooring. I will hand stitch hearts on the coloured HST’s.
At work I have put down the cross stitch that I had started and began to make a Christmas Quilt but obviously not for this year. It is loosely based on the design that I found in a Today’s Quilter magazine issue 68 and will feature an on point design.
This will be the centre piece with a 4″ Border.
I haven’t abandonned Cross Stitch as I have been working on Sophia. I have sewn the lips, one eye and some of her cheek.
Sophia Loren
You can tell it is her image.
I have also received some new stash for a quilt incorporating cross stitch again. I must like the Seasons because again it uses Spring, Summer, Autumn, Winter.
I will also incorporate these long stitch designs into the above.
And finally, I received the Stitch Material that has been on order since June 2021.
This is all little printed cross stitches and they are begging to be stitched but it will take forever – do I have forever!!!
Ooops I think I missed the HQAL date – not that I have anything to share on my Pirate Quilt as that is on the back burner whilst I concentrate on a Christmas Present for someone. (therefore no photos at the moment.)
I love to share my Quilting projects with other Quilters. My goal is to share my progress on projects that I am working on. I would love for you to follow along with me during my endeavors. I hope you enjoy watching me tackle new techniques and projects. Hopefully you can learn from my "hiccups" and mistakes and make your journey easier.
