I have not been able to focus on any one particular thing, the mind flits all over the place and the hands follow suit. Maybe it’s the clock going back or just our irregular seasonal weather.
Any how, small bits have been sewn on Lady Greensleeves so here is where I was last time …
And here is where I am now ….
Well that is all for this post. Please pop along to our other members to see how they have fared on their individual projects.
I’m afraid that I have been busy with other projects and not a lot of stitching on the Pirate Quilt but it is coming along slowly and I’m still enjoying sewing this quilt.
Here is where I was last time ……
And here is where I am now ….
Well that is all this week, so why not pop along and see the other members projects.

I have managed to do a little bit of sewing after another bout of Migraine, and as you will see from he photos, the bottom third of my design is complete and just some confetti stitching to do on the middle section. A happy dance is within reach.
Here is where I was last time …….
Well that is me so why not pop along to the other members to see how they have progressed on their individual projects.
For a while now I have had a cross stitch quotation from Jane Austen’s Pride and Prejudice (my favourite, followed by Sense and Sensibility and Emma), which I stitched and was wondering whether to just frame it or use it in something else. Well that something else has now presented me with this
which was gorgeous, but too large for my ideas. So, and here is the tricky bit – I dissected it cutting out the centre panel and cutting the rest into diamonds or triangles. All will be used just restructured. I know some people would say sacrilege – what was she thinking – I know!! I know!!
I had already purchased The Pemberley fabric from a while back with idea of surrounding the quotation with the violin pattern
Pemberley Fabric
Here is the dissected panel which I have started to quilt – the birds, brown flower heads and leaves to the right of the basket have been backstitched with Aurifil 28 shade 2692 Black and the pink flowers are to be backstitched using Aurifil 50/2 shade 2230 Red Peony.
In addition to the Pemberley Fabric I also have the following from the Riley Blake fabric and some navy spotted fabric….
So I will have one panel size 18″ x 24″ and another 15″ x 18″ and the rest of the material to make into a quilt – not sure of entire pattern – or even the finished size but the backbone of my ideas are there. Just need to sit and calculate and cut up the pieces ready to be hand pieced I think. The backing fabric will be the sheet music that I used for the Jazz Quilt. (see another post for that image)
Hope you can forgive me if I’ve caused any distress – none was intended.
Lots for me to think about – brain is buzzing – must go now – must finish something before starting this for sure.
I’m on the home strait – no in fact I am two waves short of a shipwreck border finish – yay!!! I have finished the wave border.
As you may have guessed from the above I have finished the wave border, so just the rope design and the crosses to go. I took the photo after turning the last corner.
On the home strait …..
That is me done for this post so why not have a browse and see the other members progress on their individual projects.
Bye for now
Daisy

After having a little tidy up of my sewing area I found another large sewing frame which means I do not have to rush to finish Lady Greensleeves before I could start on the next project which you may remember is Sophia Loren for my husband. So I found the box containing the image, threads, and cream Aida which I had prepared.
( I purchased the below cross stitch pdf download from “www.etsy.com/shop/diana70” )
Here is the start – the area is near her lips. I work from the centre point – I know some people prefer to start at the top left.
Me being me – I can not do with just one new project so this is what I have chosen to sew in my reduced half hour lunchbreak at work. It is a Celtic Sampler by Butternut Road and I am stitching 2 over 2 on Belfast Linen. It is quite small and intricate – there are two colours stitched but the photo does not do it justce.
As you can see from the image on the right there is more to the chart – I’ve only shown the bit I started with.
(Note: Cute little needle holder – looks like the dog is carrying a stick too large for her size – as dogs sometimes do.)
On the patchwork side I have started to remove the paper templates from the Rose Window Quilt – there are so many!!!!!! I have just started to sew rows 2 and 3 together – if you remember from a previous post I think that I told you that the rows were sewed together in 2’s ie 1+2, 3+4 etc and it feels very heavy so hopefully it will not drag too much.
Also I have done some more to the small Sewing Mantra quilt/table topper.
I really liked making this especially sewing the small 1 1/2″ squares. The corner blocks just need to be attached.
I am also working on another small quilt but as it is a Christmas present and said person sometimes looks at my blog I cannot show pictures yet.
I have had a little more stitching time of late due to the fact that I have lessened my working hours to 6 hours a day. Therefore, when I finish at 3:00pm I can stitch for one and half hours before tea-time, whilst my Hubby has a rest. So without further ado here is where I was last time …
And here is where I am now …
Well that is all for this post, so now please take a look at what progress the other members have made on their individual projects.
Three weeks have passed by quickly again, but I have managed a little sewing on the Pirate Quilt.
Last time I was swimming down the side with the waves, now I have swerved around the second corner and I am now surfing along the bottom row. (Sorry sounds a bit corny!!!)
Photos are better
No two waves are exactly alike but they’re not like that in nature either – well that is what I am telling myself. Certainly giving me practice.

I have finished sewing the Jazz Quilt Top and have selected the wadding and cut to size the backing fabric.
Also I have been sewing the cushion/table centre piece and this is how far I have progressed … and since taking the photo I have continued sewing the little squares.
On Tuesday I visited my mother – who you may remember had a fall and broke her arm which is now plated and pinned together – it is mending well but she cannot put pressure on it so I cut out some squares for her and gave some advice on colours for her project. She can use her electric sewing machine but cannot hand sew at present.
I haven’t talked much about the garden this year so here is a quick update, we planted red geraniums all around the garden this year and they have bloomed beautifully.
The Heuchera, the dahlias and the roses followed suit and the garden still looks in full bloom. I know gardening jobs need to be done but it is a shame to move anything at the moment, so on a gorgeous sunny September morning/afternoon I just took photos. See below …..
We had also planted the chimney pots with Million Bells which are a miniature petunia and they look fantastic against the fuschia which are hardy and remain in the pots in the winter.
Also the rhododendron has started making buds which will remain dormant until the spring, along with my Pieris Forest Flame which makes tiny bracts of flowers that will open in the spring
I love to share my Quilting projects with other Quilters. My goal is to share my progress on projects that I am working on. I would love for you to follow along with me during my endeavors. I hope you enjoy watching me tackle new techniques and projects. Hopefully you can learn from my "hiccups" and mistakes and make your journey easier.
