I have been at the paid job all last week so left little time for crafts, however, I made a conscious effort Friday and Saturday night to get some sewing completed.
Here is where I was last time …….
Here is my mighty effort for now …….
Well that is me, so why not delve into our members sites below and see their achievements.
I have been under the weather this week, feeling very dizzy and nauseas. Having achieved a doctor to call me back on Friday, he seems to think my heart rhythm is at fault. My blood pressure which is generally low, seems to plummet and then rise higher than my average with my heart pounding like a good ‘un and a clammy feeling followed by a bilious attack.(Sorry if too much information) Bit scary!! Blood Tests, ECG and a Heart Trace to follow.
I’ve rested all week but not achieved much as I couldn’t concentrate. Most of the work achieved was previous to last Tuesday.
Here is where I was last time ……
Here is where I am now, very close to a finish ..
Well that is me, for this post.

October is at an end and we advance towards Christmas at a rapid pace. I have managed to put in a fair few stitches on my “Fruits of Plenty” – finishing off the border on the left and the flowers in the octagon part, and starting the next section on the right hand side of the pattern. Still loving this piece of work.
Here is where I was last time ….
And here is my progress.
Well that is me this week so why not pop along to the other member’s blogs and see their progress.
I have been busy these past few days starting something new (again!!!) and continuing with other projects.
The new start is my “Pemberley Quilt” which is a mix of cross stitch, a quilted panel, and a re-hash of the original Jane Austen Panel. It will also incorporate some material from the range by Riley Blake Designs called “Pemberley” by citrus and mint designs. Here are a few photos of my basic design at the moment (you know me it will probably change).
I love how the colours of the surrounds pick out the ones in the cross stitch. This is a lot easier to stitch than the dark colours on the HQAL that I participate in. (i.e Nashville Quilt)
The other project which has occupied my time is my “Memoirs Quilt”. Once again sewing little squares.
Well I’m back to sewing little black squares. This time for the centre bottom panel which also depicts a Buick car.
Therefore this is my progress…
Not too far to go before a happy dance can be had. I would still need to quilt it but the top will soon be complete.
That’s me for this week

I love Autumn – all the lovely leaves coloured from amber through to plum red, berries on trees awaiting the birds feast, low mists hanging languidly over fields and a certain change in the air. Time to change the wardrobe – nice warm woolly jumpers and leggings. etc etc.
Inside time to swap over to sewing the quilts after a long very hot summer. According to the economic climate we will need them. Two ladies at work have gone down with Covid so had to work all week , therefore downtime for sewing was hugely reduced, however, I have made some more progress with my “Fruits of Plenty” – still loving the colours and enjoying it.
Here is where I was last time
Here is where I am now
Just a little bit left and then I can proceed to the other side, I think I am going to leave the centre until last.
That’s me done so why not grab a hot drink and visit the links below to see how much progress our members have achieved over the past three weeks.
Hope you are all keeping well. After an emotional week, things are starting to get back to a normality. I was able to paper piece loads of little black squares whilst watching the coverage of the Queen’s State Funeral. Also I have sewn the middle section together and attached it to the top section so 2/3rd’s of the quilt top are complete. Quite chuffed with how it is coming together.
Here is the picture of my progress …..
Just need to keep making loads of little black squares. By the way, my husband really likes it so added bonus. I have not got any vibes on how to quilt this as yet.
That is me, please now pop along to the other members listed below to see their progress.

I have found myself pondering things a lot of late, maybe it was the passing of another birthday and the Queen dying. However, I am not Maudling just thinking. Life goes on and so does lots of stitching. I have put a fair few stitches into Sophia and this is how she looks now …….

The first part of her hair is quite tedious as there are lots of colour changes but I can equal it by just sewing black sections. She is progressing nicely even though sometimes I wonder at the thread colour choices but it all seems to blend. I still get that feeling that she is watching me like I did with Audrey. Here is a reminder of Audrey – I think they would look good hung together on our wall.
I do have another image sew and that it is John Wayne (The Duke) – my favourite cowboy. (I love cowboy/indian films and as a teenager my book choice was all about The Daltons Gang, Billy the Kid, Jesse James, etc etc). Each to their own eh!
I bought this from Steven Shaw of http://www.stitchpad.uk and then I will have to purchase the threads as listed. This will eventually hang beside the Indian Chief in our lounge. I don’t think I will use black aida maybe a blue aida or cream aida.
I have managed a fair bit of sewing on various projects that I have on the go, including quite a bit on Fruits of Plenty. So here is where I was Last time ……
Here is my progress
Still really enjoying sewing this which is quite a good thing as I am short of half way mark.
I am thinking that instead of my initials I might insert “ER” for the marking of the year that our Queen died and the year will be 2022. The colours are quite regal so I think it may be fitting.
Anyway, please pop along to see the other projects our members are working on.
I love to share my Quilting projects with other Quilters. My goal is to share my progress on projects that I am working on. I would love for you to follow along with me during my endeavors. I hope you enjoy watching me tackle new techniques and projects. Hopefully you can learn from my "hiccups" and mistakes and make your journey easier.
